The anticipation for the 94th Academy Awards is building as the awards season has already seen early hype for films such as The Power of the Dog, Belfast and West Side Story, and by artists such as Nicole Kidman, Will Smith, Ariana DeBose, Kodi Smit-McPhee and more. This year's Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 27 and will return to the venue of the ceremony, at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, after last year's hybrid awards ceremony broadcast from Union Station in Los Angeles. Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, also confirmed last month that the awards ceremony will have a presenter for the first time in three years. The Oscar announcement ceremony will be hosted by Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross, so viewers can expect some fun pranks from these two talented actors.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce its selections for the 94th annual Academy Awards on a date to be determined. In addition to the films and actors mentioned above, other contenders for this year's awards include Ryusuke Hamaguchi's Drive My Car, Paul Thomas Anderson's Licorice Pizza Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog, Javier Bardem's Being Ricardos, Benedict Cumberbatch's The Power of the Dog, Denzel Washington's The Tragedy of Macbeth, Jessica Chastain's The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Olivia Colman's The Lost Daughter, Penelope Cruz's Parallel Mothers, Nicole Kidman's Being the Ricardos, Jesse Plemons' The Power of the Dog J. K. Simmons' Being the Ricardos, Kodi Smit-McPhee's The Power of the Dog Breton Vivian ('1883'), Nathan Barr (“The Great One”), Siddhartha Khosla ('Only'), Murders in the Building and It's Us.
